The Bird Hide has shuttered windows on an elevated platform to enhance wildlife viewing. The floor is constructed from Plazdeck, which is a textured material used in Play Towers. The Bird Hide allows you to introduce nature and outdoor education into your school or nursery playground. This is a great way to teach classes about the great outdoors and British wildlife, whether it is placed within a Forest School environment, or within an existing Natural Play area.
Bird Hide Benefits
Birdwatching can improve identification skills, as children become accustomed to spotting regular winged-visitors in the playground or Natural Play area. They can make observations and create a log of their findings, allowing them to analyse their behaviour depending on the time of day and weather.
Children can also enhance their descriptive abilities by relaying information to peers about the birds that they have spotted whilst birdwatching. This will help develop their self esteem, confidence and independence, by partaking in a hobby that they may have never considered before.
